As Adrian padded back into town the night after the beach party, he had a vague hope that this time, he'd manage to make it into the shop before someone caught him shifting back to human and he ended up bare-ass naked in front of yet another Siren Cove resident.

At this point, he thought, he might as well just strip down and run through the center of town, get seen by everyone at once and save himself the worry.

He'd tried last night to cut the naked probability down by stripping and shifting at the edge of the forest, leaving his clothes there but when he'd checked the spot just now, his clothes had been gone. Kids pranking, someone liked the look of his jeans, whatever.

It was done and he stood at the door to his shop, took a look over his shoulder, and shifted back to human.

Open to anyone, but mainly for Kat and Anna. Find Adrian shifting, or just stop by the shop later in the day and say hi.

Since he kept the shop closed on Sundays and Mondays except by appointments, Adrian usually used those nights to assume his panther form and run the woods. As much as he disdained the other ability, or curse, his genetics had left him, he really did enjoy being in his animal form. Everything was so much clearer when all you cared about was the basic needs. Food. Rest. Comfort.

Not that he really gave much of a shit beyond that when he was in human form, but the ghosts of his past plagued him more. When he ran on four paws, he focused on the here and now, not the past or future.

Because he'd run so far that night, dawn had already broken before he'd made it back to Siren Cove. It wasn't that big a deal to pad down the street as a panther here - the residents weren't the type to freak out about that kind of thing. Still, he didn't like making a habit of it.

Once at the shop, he braced and shivered back into human form to open the door and get on with the rest of his day.

Feel free to stop by the shop, or see Adrian transform in front of his shop, or even follow the panther into town

It was a good thing, Adrian thought as he propped the door open for the day, that he was good at managing money and at entertaining himself. His business wasn't one that lended itself to a steady stream of customers.

Ink, he found, called all manner of people. Expressionists, impulsives, mourners, and, of course, falling down drunks. Some people planned their ink for months before they committed it to their skin, some came by, browsed, and left with stinging skin and a tube of Aquafor. And some stumbled in, determined the way only alcohol can cause, demanding whatever had made sense to a liquified mind.

He had a special form for those, and every one of them on video, declaring their inebriated desires. They were some of his favorite customers.

There were no appointments on the books today, so he'd spend it printing out some of his latest work and working on some original designs.

Shadow, his three year old black cat, wound around his legs and purred up at him until he picked her up and stroked a hand down her long back. "Finally awake, huh? You're getting to be a slacker, your highness."
